Acupressure Level 1 7.5 CEUs CMTO (Category A)

A one day in-class with home pre-class reading and post-class review teaching you how to easily incorporate acupressure into your practice. Learn the basic theory of eastern medicine plus treatments for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and stress. Included with your fee is a patented Acupointer that allows you to do acupressure with minimal stress to your body.

Acupressure Level 2 7.0 CEUs CMTO (Category A)

A one day in-class course with home pre-class reading and post-class review for those that have completed Acupressure Level 1. You will learn the basics of Eastern Medicine expanding on Yin/Yang Theory as applied to physical dysfunction and disease, plus treatments for shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist pain, fatigue and sinusitis. This class will also cover how to incorporate, press tacks and press seeds into your practice.

Therapeutic Ultrasound 7.0 CEUs CMTO (Category B)

This is a one day certificate course with pre-class reading and post-class supervision. Ultrasound is the perfect complement to a massage or physical therapy practice. Ultrasound waves are a vibrational energy that soften hard, fibrous tissue allowing you to massage and remodel the tissue so much easier and more effectively. The vibrations of the ultrasound also enhance the healing of the injured tissue allowing your clients to get better faster!

Electrotherapy (IFC/TENS) 7.0 CEUs CMTO (Category B)

This is a one day certificate course with pre-class reading and post-class supervision. Electrotherapy has been commonly used in physical therapy for 50 years. It involves stimulating the subcutaneous nerves with a mild electrical current to elicit therapeutic effects. In this course you will learn how to use the two most popular electrotherapy modalities; Interferential Current (IFC) and TENS – to help reduce pain, muscle spasm and assist with your drainage techniques.

Laser and LED Light Therapy 5.0 CEUs CMTO (Category B)

From the Mayans to the Ancient Chinese light has been used to heal injuries and disease. Modern science has changed the way this photonic energy (light) is created and delivered but the underlying affects are the same. This is a one day certificate course that will teach you what light is, the difference between laser (LLLT) and LEDT, the effects of Laser and LEDT, clinical application and specific protocols for pain and tissue healing. Light therapy is the perfect complement to a massage or physical therapy practice because it is incredibly fast and effective and can be used for virtually every injury or condition that you see. It is also now very affordable and you will learn a variety of options to fit your budget.

Cosmetic Acupressure for Scars, Skin Pathology, and Stress. 4.0 CEUs CMTO (Category A)

Learn a simple and effective facial regime based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and aromatherapy that helps reduce the signs of facial scars and/or skin pathology as well as stress and aging. You will learn how to incorporate this regime into your practice as well as giving you the confidence to teach the routine to you clients for home care. The regime combines acupressure massage with the blending of problem-specific facial oils, as well as examination of other modalities such as gua sha and micro-needling. In Class Study—8.0 hours

Zen Shiatsu Massage Introduction 3.5 CEUs CMTO (Category A)

This is an intensive hands-on workshop of professional Japanese Zen Shiatsu massage. Originally performed on special floor mats through clothing, Zen Shiatsu massage has its roots in traditional Japanese martial arts practices, where it was used to heal and rehabilitate warriors from injuries. Now it is used in clinical therapeutic practice in Japan and Europe to safely treat different injuries in athletes, as well as multiple health conditions of people of different ages. Zen Shiatsu massage is more dynamic and active than Shiatsu massage.

Zen Shiatsu Reflexology  Introduction 2 CEUs CMTO (Category A)

This is an initial introduction to professional Japanese Zen Shiatsu Reflexology of the hands and feet. Nowadays it is widely used in Japan, Korea and Europe as professional micro-needle acupuncture, moxibustion or micro-tsubo point massage with the application of gold/silver pellets, magnets, laser light, seeds etc. Applying gold/silver pellets or seeds is efficient and pain- free, suitable for children. With regular reflexology sessions you can expect real improvement of multiple health conditions.

Graduated from Vilnius University –Diploma, Certificate in Applied Kinesiology (Vilnius, Lithuania), School of Japanese massage (Vilnius, Lithuania), Elmcrest College of applied Health Sciences and Spa management – Massage Therapy Diploma with Honors, (Toronto, Canada), Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy – Acupuncture Diploma (Toronto, Canada). Graduated as a Yoga Teacher/Yoga Therapist with Diplomas and Certificates from International Yoga Schools: Yoga for Health Foundation (England), British School of Yoga (England), Scandinavian School of Yoga and Meditation (Sweden) and others. Since 2005 is a professional member of College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario and International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Dr. Cassandra Laleye graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic and was the recipient of the 2016 Collaborative Patient Care Award. She also attended York University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Derek Shin

Derek Shin has a masters degree in psychlogy, an honours science degree in sports bio-mechanics, a diploma in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine,and is a registered massage therapist. Derek is the founder and director of the Healing in the park, a holistic healthcare clinic located in Toronto. Derek is a western trained psychotherapist who holds a masters degree in psychology, an honours science degree in sports biomechanics, a diploma in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Derek does extensive speaking and lecturing to organizations across North America providing healthcare education. These organizations have included; Bellwood Health Services Inc., Westover Treatment Centre, Toronto District School Board, CGI, Symantec, Canadian Military, and the Canadian Addiction Intervention Association.

Gwen Morgan

MA, MSW, RSW

Gwen is a clinical Social Worker with over 25-years’ experience in medical settings with a focus on stress reduction in living with chronic conditions. Currently she is the Lead in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto where she has been a Teaching Assistant to Susan Woods in the Intensive professional MBSR Teacher Trainer program. She continues to facilitate Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) groups and, also Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups. She is also trained and offered groups in Mindful Eating. Gwen is also a facilitator and trainer in the Centre’s Social Program offering adapted programs for marginalized people. Gwen attended the 7-day training with Jon Kabat Zinn in 2007 and has been teaching MBSR since then. She became a Certified MBSR Teacher with the UC San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute, where she is also an Approved Mentor for professionals in MBSR.

Laura Shin

Laura has a life-long interest in health and wellness, particularly alternative and complementary therapies. After years of self-learning, she left a career in the publishing industry to pursue acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated from Toronto’s SSC Acupuncture Institute with a high honours diploma and has additional training in Cosmetic acupuncture and Japanese acupuncture. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is an excellent treatment for a wide-range of conditions. Possibly best known for treating pain, both chronic and acute, it is also effective at providing relief from digestive issues, menstrual issues, infertility, and insomnia, as well as stress and anxiety.

Martha Johnson

Martha is a certified yoga instructor (Hatha, Yin, Restorative), MBSR (MIndfulness Based Stress Reduction) Facilitator and Reiki Practitioner (Usui Method) with a passion for sharing how these practices can play a role in supporting health, healing and personal transformation. She holds a business degree from the Richard Ivey School of Management, a Masters Degree in Organizational Management and is Co-Director of Harmony Yoga Wellness. She is dedicated to helping clients enhance overall mental and physical health through body and breath awareness.Martha is a certified yoga instructor (Hatha, Yin, Restorative), MBSR (MIndfulness Based Stress Reduction) Facilitator and Reiki Practitioner (Usui Method) with a passion for sharing how these practices can play a role in supporting health, healing and personal transformation.
